DONATE TO AUTONOMOUS COMMUNITIES FOR REPRODUCTIVE & ABORTION SUPPORT (ACRAS) AND HELP FOLX GET THE SUPPORT THEY NEED BEFORE, DURING, AND AFTER AN ABORTION
We are a group of individuals doing this work out of Revolutionary Love. We are not part of the non-profit sector and truly depend on the monetary contributions of people that care about Abortion Doula work.
If you would like to donate money, please refer to the link above!
All money will go to ACRAS in providing support and services to people during their abortion.
Please contact us for other information.
We also accept other kinds of donations, such as print out, snacks, knowledge, zines, books, help developing website, art, anything!
Why do we need your support?
It is important to understand the power of the individual and the power of choice. We recently attended an Abortion Doula training provided by the amazing people at the Bay Area Doula Project. In the Abortion Doula training we learned the skills of being an Abortion Doula; non judgmental support, compassion, listening, information, and communication. With these skills, we are launching a collective to support people going through abortions. We will offer free/low cost services that will encompass physical support, emotional support, and information sharing. Our goal is to provide free or donation based services for in clinic support during surgical abortions, and potentially at home care for medical abortions.
How many people do you plan to support?
Our goal in the start of our collective is to support 15-20 people and later create knowledge sharing workshops and share our experiences as Abortion Doulas. This way anybody that is interested on learning how to support their friends/partners/sisters during the process can learn the same skills.
Where will you be offering support?
We will be offering our Abortion Doula services to folx in the Los Angeles area.
Where are the funds going?
The funds will be used to start our services, funds will be generated to create a website, and secure a domain with email contacts. The remaining portion of the funds will go to help us make the services sustainable; they will help us cover transportation (gas, public trans, bike repairs), food, printouts and a toolkit (oils, snacks, etc) . We believe in providing free services but also understand that we need to stay healthy and make sure we have our basic needs taken care of.

Why does your collective care about offering Abortion Doula services?
Living a political life, as womxn and people of color, we understand the need to reclaim our bodies and reproductive choices. We are continually aware and confronted with all the difficulties placed on us and our community. From personhood bills to the Hyde amendment to social shame, womxns' bodies have been on the forefront of political and public discourse; unwillingly of course. Womxn have been criminalized, shamed, marginalized, violated, assaulted, and even killed. We want to offer our time and skills as an act of revolutionary love to our community. We care for our communities and want them to be healthy and informed.
Why is affordable and accessible community care so important?
Because we need to get our shit together and start creating autonomous communities that will support and offer services without systematic restrictions. We don't want to depend on institutions any longer when making reproductive health decisions for ourselves and our bodies!
